Bat City Treks
Welcome to Bat City Treks!
This project is designed for people who want to get out and explore, but aren't quite sure how to get started, or that could use a few extra details and recommendations to make every excursion extra special. And weird. It's purpose is to make the world at large more accessible. Consideration and notes are included to help the reader understand the terrain and skill level needed to make their way out into nature, from "toddlerable" on. When available, ADA compliance information will be updated. Hikes and outings tend to include additional information about nearby opportunities, food, and entertainment, to complete the experience.
This is not a blog for people who hyper focus on goals. Or for people who hate slang or made up words (why, yes, I say "todderlable" with a straight face and you can't stop me). The destination is not the point. Impeccable grammar is also not the point. If you love the journey, enjoy a little silliness, and love learning weirdo facts, you've come to the right place.
Before you choose your own adventure(s), check out the How Not to Suck at Hiking in Texas page. It covers some basics about what to know, what to do, and what not to do, when hitting the trails.
"Rockstars know when not to play- and when the stage is on fire, perhaps reconsider stumbling out into the flames." Make good decisions before you head out into Texas nature. Be a hiking rockstar.
